The Honest Truth About This Balabac Tour

This is camping, not glamping

You will sleep in a tent on a beach. The toilets are shared. The shower is a bucket and a scoop.

The food is home-cooked

Our kitchen serves what the market and the fishermen provide that day. It is simple, fresh, and delicious — but not a hotel buffet.

There is no cell signal at camp

You will be offline. Embrace it.

The weather decides the final itinerary

We follow Coast Guard advisories. If a stop is unsafe, we will not go. Your safety is not negotiable.

We do not visit mainland Balabac

This is a deliberate safety choice. There have been crocodile sightings there. We keep you on the islands and sandbars.

Paying safely

A deposit confirms your booking, and the balance is agreed with you in writing before departure. Pay by credit or debit card, or PayPal — both give you buyer protection and a transaction record you can dispute. Prefer lower fees? Wise works for the balance.

There are no card machines and no ATMs on the islands, so bring cash for personal extras. Our refund window is more than 14 days before your tour date — full terms on our Booking Terms page.
