Home / Destinations / Canimeran Island
Canimeran is where the expedition really begins. After the long van transfer and the boat crossing, Canimeran is the first island you set foot on, and the first swim and lunch happen here.
Your first stop
Boarding the boat at Buliluyan Port is followed by a short crossing, and by mid-morning on day one you step onto Canimeran. The beach is calm, the water clear, and lunch is served on the sand before the boat moves on.
When we visit
Canimeran is a 10:00 AM stop on day one of the 4-day Balabac Expedition. From there we continue to Patawan Island for snorkelling in the afternoon, then arrive at the campsite at Punta Sebaring for sunset.
What to expect
- A calm beach for the first swim of the trip
- Lunch served on the beach by our crew
- Shallow entry into the water, good for less confident swimmers
- A gentle introduction before the more exposed sandbars
