Home / Destinations / Punta Sebaring
Punta Sebaring is our home. It is a private beachfront campsite on Bugsuk Island where our family lives and works, and where every Balabac Tours expedition sleeps.
Your camp for the trip
Guests sleep in tents with mattresses pitched on the sand, with a hut upgrade available. The camp has shared toilets, fresh water for rinsing and generator power from 6 PM to 10 PM. Dinner is served at camp, and there is a bonfire when the weather allows.
Why we camp here
Because it is ours. The camp sits on a white-sand beach facing the Sulu Sea, and it is the reason our itineraries can start early and reach distant stops before anyone else. It also means the crew who look after you are the family who live here.
What camp is really like
- You sleep in a tent on a beach with a mattress provided
- The toilets are shared and the shower is a bucket and a scoop
- There is no mobile signal at camp
- Power runs from 6 PM to 10 PM only
- Meals are home-cooked from what the market and the fishermen provide that day
Sunrise and sunset
Sunset over the water on your first evening, coffee on the beach at 6:00 AM the next morning. On day two the boat leaves at 8:00 AM so that we reach Onok Island before the day-trippers.
